Sizzlin’ Seniors
Erin go Bragh! The Sizzlin’ Seniors had a
wonderful St Patrick’s Day Show at Bixby
Knolls Towers, 3737 Atlantic Avenue, Long
Beach. The show featured the group,
dressed in their festive greens, performing
much loved Irish songs, (everybody
remembers Danny Boy). There was also an
Irish jig or two and the guys telling us

The audience participated in a sing-a-long
to I’m Lookin Over a Four Leaf Clover led
by Alma in her lovely green dress. Our
featured member, Jack, sang Peg O My
Heart backed up by Judy and Ginni.
Looking ahead in 2020, The Sizzlin’
Seniors are preparing for both the San
Diego Fair and the Orange County Fair.
They will be performing their special
production for this year, The Fabulous 50s,
60s, and 70s. Everyone has favorites from
this era and there will even be poodle skirts
and songs that will be immediately
recognized and remembered. The audience
will be invited to participate in a dance
popular at that time.
The Sizzlin’ Seniors is the Original
Sanctioned performing group, began in HARD BOILED EGGS
2001, and is composed of former pageant

The Method
Bring 1 inch of water to a
boil in a large saucepan fitted
with a steamer basket. Place
large eggs in the basket (no
more than will cover the
bottom). Cover; cook 12
minutes. Transfer to a bowl of
ice water to cool. Drain, crack
and peel.
The Results
According to the American
Egg Board, the pressure
created by the steam forces the
membrane to separate from
the egg, making it easy to
peel. As promised, the shell
slipped right off.
