Memorial Day began in 1866 as Decoration Day after the Civil War. It represents a time to reflect on the brave military men and women who lost their lives fighting for our country’s freedom.
We honor them as a tribute for their surviving families, in hope they understand the important impact their personal losses have on a nation, on a community, on a single life. `
