Q – WHAT IS OXIDATIVE STRESS?
A – Free radicals are dangerous molecules generated in our body from
dietary, environmental, and neurological abuse. This produces oxidative
stress which shortens our telomeres and so decreasing our life span.
Oxidative stress has been linked to more than 200 diseases and is
considered a major cause of cellular aging because of DNA damage that
occurs.

Q – What are some of the factors that increase oxidative stress?
A – Toxic food (dietary), toxic air & water (environmental), and stress
(neurological).

Q – WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BUY ORGANIC FOODS?
A – They taste better and are higher in nutritional value. More importantly
they are free of pesticides and other contaminants like GMO’s (genetically
modified organisms) that increase oxidative stress.

Q – WHICH FOODS CONTAIN THE MOST PESTICIDES?
A – Coffee, milk, meats, peaches, apples, bell peppers, celery,
strawberries, cherries, lettuce, grapes, carrots, pears, white or red
potatoes, and tomatoes so be especially careful to buy these as organic!

Q – WHAT ARE THE DANGERS OF CONSUMING PESTICIDES?
A – Pesticides are chemicals designed to kill, control, or repel pests so
isn’t it logical that they would also be harmful to humans? Numerous
studies have linked them to a number of chronic health problems that
include cancer, birth defects, endocrine disruption, asthma, neurological
disorders, immune impairment, and free radical build up.

Q – ARE THERE STUDIES LINKING PESTICIDES TO CANCER?
A – There is an extensive body of evidence – particularly for leukemia,
brain cancer, sarcomas, breast cancer, and prostate cancer.

Q – CAN ANTIOXIDANTS CANCEL OUT FREE RADICALS?
A – Yes but we can’t get enough from foods alone and even with large
doses of vitamin C and other supplemental antioxidants; the free radicals
creating oxidative stress keep building up in our cells with every decade
of our life.

Q – HOW CAN WE GET RID OF THIS DANGEROUS OXIDATIVE STRESS?
A – With supplements containing phytonutrients.

Q – ARE THERE BLOOD TESTS THAT MEASURE THE AMOUNT OF
OXIDATIVE STRESS DAMAGE IN OUR CELLS?
A – T-BARS (Thio Barbituric Acid Reactive Substances) can measure
oxidative stress in blood; C-RP (C-Reactive Protein) and LDH (lactic
dehyrogenase) are other blood tests that more specifically measure free
radical damage and is included in all of Dr. Joyce’s blood panel testings.

Q – NOW TO KEEP FREE RADICALS DOWN, HOW CAN I KNOW IF THE
FOOD I PURCHASE IS REALLY ORGANIC?
A – Read the numbers on the produce stickers: 5 digits beginning with #9
is truly organic with no pesticides; 4 digit numbers are grown with
pesticides; 5 digits beginning with #8 is genetically modified AND has
pesticides. Besides if ORGANIC is on the label, the company would be put
out of business if the statement was untrue. This is especially true in
California.

Q – WHAT IS THE BEST SUPPLEMENT FOR RIDDING MY BODY OF
OXIDATIVE STRESS?
A -LifeVantage Protandim, the Nrf2 Synergizer. Protandim significantly
reduces oxidative stress through Nrf2 activation on average of 40% in 30
days. Learn more at www.biohackingyourbody.com then:
